The 2002 Acura RSX Type-S was the successor to the Acura Integra. It was marketed as the RSX in Canada, Hong Kong, and the U.S., but kept it's Integra label in Japan and Australia. It features a 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder engine known as the K20A2, which features Honda's i-VTEC system, and produces 200 horsepower and 142 lb-ft of torque while revving to 7900 RPM. This is mated to a 6 speed transmission coupled to a limited slip differential that controls the front tires.

For suspension, the RSX sports coil spring front and rear suspension with MacPherson front struts and double wishbones in the back, with 29mm front and 19mm rear sway bars. The braking system consists of 11.8 inch vented front rotors and 10.2 inch solid rear rotors with ABS standard.

RSX Type-S in FM3

In Forza Motorsport 3, the 2002 Acura RSX Type-S is placed in E Class with a PI of 232, situating itself in the bottom half of the class. Notable class competitors include the 2007 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, the 1992 Nissan Silvia CLUB K's and the 1998 Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R.

Engine swaps include the 2.4 liter inline 4 from the Honda Prelude S, the B18C5 from the 2000 Honda Integra Type-R, and the F20C from the 2003 Honda S2000.

With the stock K20, the RSX can be given an HKS Single Turbocharger which costs 3,200 cr and supplies 35 hp, or an HKS Centrifugal Supercharger kit, which costs 2,300 cr and adds 15 horsepower.

Body modifications come from Mugen, Bomex, INGS, C-West, Chargespeed, and Forza Motorsport. With the Mugen body kit, the car almost perfectly resembles the 2002 Honda Mugen Integra Type-R.

The RSX is offered in 6 colors: Black, Gray, Silver, Light Green, Blue, and Red.

Vehicle Characteristics

The car accelerates nicely, picking up in power around 5,000 RPM. If the 1-2 shift is quick enough it will break the tires loose, so watch out when accelerating through a corner. When accelerating through a corner in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear, wheelspin can occur, depending on steering angle and speed, causing understeer. Careful modulation of the throttle and steering must be used to avoid such a situation, or to correct it.

Steering response is sharp and quick, and while understeer is minimal, lift off oversteer can occur on fast corners. Braking is balanced and powerful.

The RSX likes to be launched at 6,000 RPM at the Sedona drag strips, and 3,800 on any other track. Shifting at or a little after redline is recommended.
