The 2016 Audi R8 V10 plus is a mid-engined supercar that has been featured in the Forza series since Forza Motorsport 6. It also appears in various E3 2017 gameplay footages of Forza Motorsport 7[1].

Description Edit

The only elements that are typical of the R8 V10 plus are the acceleration and top speed expected of a supercar (at sub-3 seconds and over 200mph, respectively). From there, this top-of-the-line V10 plus model, which sports more than 100 more horsepower than the LMS GT3-spec version, takes advantage of Audi innovation in every facet. Power can be transferred 100 percent to the front or rear end, depending on where grip is found, and the chassis is 40 percent stiffer. Inside, a customizable cockpit delivers the pertinent information depending on how the car is being driven. Taken as a package, the R8 V10 plus is a car that makes driving very fast much simpler for the average or skilled driver in an updated package that accentuates its already attractive lines.

Specifications Edit

The 2016 Audi R8 V10 plus is part of the second generation of the Audi R8 supercar and the successor to the 2013 Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus 5.2 FSI quattro. It shares its technical automobile platform with the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4.

The most powerful production Audi car of all time, the second-generation Audi R8 V10 plus's engine is an improved version of Audi's 5.2 L (5,204 cc), 40-valve naturally aspirated V10 with power rated at 602 hp (610 PS; 449 kW) at 8,250 rpm and torque rated at 413 ft·lb (560 Nm) at 6,500 rpm. The Audi R8 V10 plus uses a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission and is capable of doing 0-60 mph within less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The R8 V10 plus now uses a fixed carbon fiber rear wing to help generate more downforce than the previous-generation model.

Performance Edit

The 2016 Audi R8 V10 plus presents itself as the fastest road-legal Audi ever, complete with supercar-like acceleration (capable of doing 0-60 in 2.7 seconds), decent top speeds, and good handling, all improvements over the last generation R8. The Audi R8 V10 plus is comparable to the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4, but actually has a slightly faster top speed of 218 mph (351 km/h). The R8's all-wheel-drive helps it take corners more easily than similar-ranked cars with rear-wheel-drive along with accelerating off the line faster and more easily.

When compared to the Huracán, the R8 has faster acceleration (0-60 in 2.7 sec vs 2.9 sec) and a higher top speed (218 vs 217), but the Huracán has the edge in handling and braking due to being lighter.

Trivia Edit

  • The Audi R8 V10 plus's in-game power output is erroneously shown as 610 hp (618 PS; 455 kW). 610, however, is its power output in PS, which would make its actual power output 602 hp (610 PS; 449 kW).
