Following the debut of the first generation Audi TT RS, the RS 3 Sportback was the second high performance RS badged sports compact to be released by Audi. Due to sharing its platform with the TT RS, the RS 3 features all-wheel drive and a turbocharged inline-five motor but offered in a hatchback format.
The RS 3 Sportback was only produced from 2011 to 2012 and reintroduced in 2015 as a part of the third generation Audi A3 model series.
