The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is an extreme speed-oriented variant of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 hypercar, easily identifiable by its World Record Edition paint color which includes a bare, black carbon fiber body with orange bodywork and rims. It held the Guinness World Record for the fastest production car, with a top speed of 267.856 mph (431.072 km/h), until November 2017, when it was dethroned by the Koenigsegg Agera RS, with 277.87 mph (447.19 km/h). The Veyron Super Sport, along with later Veyron versions, was succeeded by the Bugatti Chiron in 2016.
There is no substitute for the Veyron Super Sport; even among hypercars it stands alone. The Veyron alone is the fastest car in the world but, for some, that is not enough. If the Super Sport cannot quench your thirst for over-the-top speed and horsepower the only alternative is start racing airplanes, because very few machines match the SS for pure ground speed.
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is powered by an upgraded 8.0L (7,993 cc) quad-turbocharged W16 engine, with a power output of 1183 hp (882 kW) and a torque output of 1106 ft·lb (1500 N·m) thanks to larger turbochargers and intercoolers. This engine was later used in the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, an upgraded version of the Grand Sport with the Super Sport's engine. Just like with other Veyron models, the Super Sport uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox delivering power to all four wheels.
The Veyron Super Sport's active rear wing deploys at 140 mph (225 km/h) under a slight tilt, then tilts to a zero-degree angle at 180 mph (290 km/h), before finally descending partially back into the car at 230 mph (370 km/h). Under heavy braking at speeds above 140 mph (225 km/h), the rear wing tilts upwards to improve braking performance.
The Veyron Super Sport is capable of 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.4 seconds, 0 - 100 mph (161 km/h) in 5 seconds, and a top speed of 268 mph (431 km/h). However, the car is normally electronically limited to 258 mph (415 km/h) to stop the tires from disintegrating. In Forza Motorsport 5, the Veyron Super Sport's acceleration was slightly downgraded to 0 - 60 mph (97 km/h) in 2.6 seconds and 0 - 100 mph (161 km/h) in 5.2 seconds.
Due to using a carbon fiber body, the Veyron Super Sport's weight is down to 4044 lb (1834 kg), 426 lb (193 kg) less than the Veyron 16.4, resulting in an improved power-to-weight ratio of 645 hp (481 kW) per tonne.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is a car whose performance values acceleration and top speed above everything else. Being the fastest Bugatti available in Forza, the Veyron SS is capable of reaching 100 mph (161 km/h) in 5 seconds, making it the fastest road-legal car to 100 mph (161 km/h) in the series until the introduction of the Porsche 918 Spyder. With a top speed of 268 mph (432 km/h) that closely matches its real-life rendition's top speed, it is also one of the fastest cars in the series by top speed, only behind the Koenigsegg One:1's 269 mph (434 km/h) and Hennessey Venom GT's 270 mph (435 km/h).
However, just like the Veyron 16.4, the Super Sport suffers from strong understeer in corners due to its weight, although it considerably handles better than the Veyron 16.4 due to being lighter by 426 lb (193 kg). This makes the Veyron Super Sport more recommended for tracks that prioritize speed over handling.
In Forzavista, the Veyron Super Sport's hood can not be opened, instead remaining permanently shut.
In the Forza Horizon series, the Veyron Super Sport's 8.0L W16 engine, named "8.0L W16 - Quad Turbo" in-game, is available as an Engine Swap option exclusive to the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport.
In Forza Motorsport 5, prior to December 19, 2013, the Veyron Super Sport was priced at 2,400,000 CR or 4,000 TK.
In Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, the Veyron Super Sport's weight stat is shown as 3638 lb (1650 kg) due to the car being pre-modified.
In Forza Motorsport 7, the Veyron Super Sport and 2017 Nissan GT-R were affected by a glitch that caused the cars to lack their mirrors in-game and become less detailed than normal, even when driven by the player. As of the November 3, 2017 update for the game, this has been fixed.
