The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C7), abbreviated as Corvette '15, is a front-engined supercar that appears in the Alpinestars Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 and all subsequent main titles of the Forza series.
The Z06 is a high-performance model of the C7 Corvette, with an LT4 supercharged V8 engine producing 650 hp (485 kW). This engine was later put in the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. In 2017, the Z06 was joined by the highest-performance variant of the C7 Corvette, the ZR1.
With the C7 Corvette, GM set a new bar for what to expect from America’s heartthrob. With the 2015 Z06, they have smashed that bar and have given the Corvette undeniable supercar status. For starters, the supercharged LT4 puts out 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. That’s enough juice to destroy almost anything on the road, regardless of its price tag. Straight-line speed and breathtaking acceleration have always been the forte of American muscle, but the Z06 is as deft in a corner as anything out of Europe. Finally, just take a moment to consider its looks and you will agree that this Corvette has checked all the boxes. The highways and byways of Forza Horizon 2 are just waiting for you to leave your mark in this inevitable classic.
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C7) uses a 6.2L (6,162 cc) V8 engine, codenamed LT4, supplemented with a 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger. The supercharged V8 produces 650 hp (485 kW) and 650 ft·lb (881 N·m) of torque.
It also features Rotocast A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads, a removable roof panel, and two choices for the transmission: a seven-speed Tremec manual or a Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The Forza versions of the car always use the eight-speed automatic. The car utilizes Michelin Pilot Sport P285/30ZR19 front and 335/25ZR20 rear tires. The Z06 also features slightly refreshed bodywork over the base model.
The Z06 is a high-performance variant of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C7), unveiled at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. It is arguably the fastest non-ZR1 Corvette model to date, with a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph (333 km/h), which the Forza Horizon series versions of the car always reach.
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Horizon Edition is a special version of the Corvette Z06 tuned to the top of Class S1 with an upgrade preset, with improvements in handling, acceleration, and braking. Available only through the Auction House or the Horizon Wheelspin, the Corvette Z06 Horizon Edition awards a Drift Skills boost.
The Corvette Z06's final manufacturer color gives it the Bondurant Racing School livery, carried over from the C7 Stingray.
In Forza Horizon 3, removing the license plate from the Corvette Z06 reveals a #01 decal where the rear license plate should be, even if the Bondurant Racing School livery is not equipped. This may be a developer oversight, as the #01 decal does not appear in other titles if the Bondurant Racing School livery is not equipped.
In Forzavista, the Corvette Z06's roof panel can be removed and replaced.
The Corvette Z06's rear wheels are wrongly depicted in the in-game version of the car: instead of being close to or flush with the fenders, they are shown as far into the car's body.
This was fixed in the Forza Horizon 3 renditions of the Corvette Z06.
