The 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta is a V12-engined grand tourer produced by Ferrari and introduced in 2012 as the successor to the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The Ferrari F12berlinetta debuted in Forza Horizon and has returned for all subsequent games. In 2017, the Ferrari 812 Superfast was introduced as the successor to the F12berlinetta.
Description
"Ferrari’s fastest road car ever is also a car that can be your daily driver, provided, of course, that you can afford it. Exquisitely engineered, the F12 berlinetta will handily beat an Enzo or 599 GTO on the track. Yet all that power is refined; the 730 bhp and 509 lb-ft of torque are delivered in a manner that is calculated and smooth to the point of simplicity. That’s not to say its 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds or its top speed of 211 mph is any less exciting, it just means that the fun factor translates into a slightly more sophisticated feel than that of a track car. This V-12 sounds superb from idle to redline, and its power delivery is ferocious at any RPM."—Forzamotorsport.net[1]
Characteristics
The Ferrari F12berlinetta features a new 6.3L (6,262 cc) V12 engine, codenamed F140 FC, which won the International Engine of the Year Awards 2013 in the Best Performance category and Best Engine above 4.0 liters. The F12berlinetta's F140 FC engine produces 730 hp (544 kW) at 8,250 rpm and 509 ft·lb (690 N·m) of torque at 6,000 rpm. To date, the F12berlinetta has the fourth most powerful naturally aspirated V12 engine for any road-going Ferrari, following the Ferrari 812 Superfast's and Ferrari LaFerrari's 789 hp (588 kW) and Ferrari F12tdf's 769 hp (573 kW).
The Ferrari F12berlinetta uses a seven-speed dual-clutch automated semi-automatic gearbox which has paddle shifters behind the steering wheel and drives power to the rear wheels. To match the engine's power, the car uses shortened gear ratios. It is claimed to do 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds, 0-124 mph in 8.5 seconds, and a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h).
The Ferrari F12berlinetta uses aerodynamic techniques based on Ferrari's XX and Formula One programmes, with a notable feature being the Aero Bridge. It is an air channel running from the bonnet, through the flanks, and along the sides, increasing downforce. Active Brake Cooling Ducts open to direct cooling air upon detecting hot brakes and are closed at other times to lower aerodynamic drag. The F12berlinetta produces 271 lb (123 kg) of downforce at 124 mph (200 km/h), +76% over the 599 GTB Fiorano.

Driving Characteristics
Rivaling the Enzo Ferrari and 599 GTO, the Ferrari F12berlinetta features smooth power delivery at any RPM and has a quick acceleration (0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds) thanks to using shortened gear ratios intended to match the V12 engine's power. Its braking performance is helped by Active Brake Cooling Ducts that open to direct cooling air only when the brakes have heated up; these same ducts remain closed outside of braking to reduce aerodynamic drag. The F12berlinetta's smooth power delivery and downforce generation give it smoother cornering than its predecessor thanks to using the Aero Bridge, which increases downforce. The F12berlinetta's top speed is impressive, with 215 mph (346 km/h) in pre-2015 games, 223 mph (359 km/h) in Forza Motorsport 6, and 222 mph (358 km/h) in Forza Horizon 3; the F12berlinetta exceeds its real-life claimed top speed.
