The 2016 Ford #66 Ford Racing GT Le Mans is a GT racing car that appears in Forza Motorsport 6, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex as part of the Hyper Endurance Car Pack and Forza Horizon 3 as part of the Motorsport All-Stars Car Pack. It also appears in various E3 2017 gameplay footages of Forza Motorsport 7.[1]

The #66 Ford Racing GT Le Mans is the racing model of the 2017 Ford GT for use in the LM GTE-Pro racing class.

The #66 Ford Racing GT Le Mans finished fourth in the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans (where a #68 Ford Racing GT finished first) and came in second in the 2016 6 Hours of Fuji and 6 Hours of Shanghai.

Description Edit

Marking 50 years since Ford’s overall victory at Le Mans in 1966, the Ford GT brings the blue oval back to the highest level of sports car racing. In 2016, two Ford GTs are competing with Ford Chip Ganassi Racing in the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship, and two more cars are running in the FIA World Endurance Championship with outstanding results in both series. Now, all four Ford GTs are together at Le Mans and ready to compete for glory. Upon the car’s debut at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, the red, white, and blue liveried car has been a crowd favorite. At Laguna Seca the #67 car driven by Richard Westbrook and Ryan Briscoe collected the team’s first win. In the WEC, the #67 scored a second place at the Six Hours of Spa. With its full aero kit sucking up downforce and the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 delivering reliable, efficient power, this latest incarnation of the Ford GT is poised to make another historic run at the world’s most famous endurance race.

Design Edit

The Ford Racing GT was made for use in the LM GTE-Pro racing class. It features yellow headlights, a six-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels, and a rear-view camera alongside side mirrors. The engine, a detuned 3.6L (3,599 cc) twin-turbocharged V6 producing 530 hp (537 PS; 395 kW) and 494 ft·lb (670 Nm) of torque, meets Automobile Club de l'Ouest's engine restrictions of up to 4.0L for forced-induction engines.

Performance Edit

Owing to being a racing version of the 2017 Ford GT for use in LM GTE-Pro racing, the Ford Racing GT features significantly improved handling and braking performance due to its aerodynamic improvements and increased downforce. It is meant for use on handling-intense tracks because of its sharp handling. On the other hand, it has slower acceleration (0-60 mph in 3.15 seconds, 0-100 mph in 6.65 seconds) and a moderate top speed of only 184 mph (296 km/h), although the Racing GT more than makes up for this with its superior handling and braking.
