Designed as a high-performance model ranging above the Focus ST, the Focus RS utilises all-wheel drive and is powered a turbocharged inline-four engine from the Ford Mustang Ecoboost. The 2017 model replaces the 2009 model as the third iteration of the Focus RS.
When you consider the fervor over the upcoming release of the latest RS from Ford, the only factor that can beat the hype is the actual car itself. With the Focus RS, Ford cut no corners and is drawing new boundaries for what enthusiasts can expect from the blue oval. Most of all, we can thank them for bringing the RS to America. Turns out Americans do love to drive, and the Focus RS is all about driving. The RS speaks for itself with a barking, raspy burble that harkens to its rally heritage. But don’t worry, the RS is not all talk. Thanks to Ford’s innovative Torque Vectoring Rear Drive Module, power distribution is far more adaptable than ever before. This is just the tip of the iceberg, too; the RS boasts 350hp, aggressive lines, braking that inspires confidence, and an adjustable suspension. As the result of more than two years of development headed by Tyrone Johnson, Ford’s vehicle performance manager, it won’t take much time behind the wheel to justify that “RS” badge. So why not get started now?
The Focus RS is an all-wheel drive hot hatch that is powered by a 2.3 litre turbocharged inline-four engine with 350 hp (261 kW) and 350 ft·lb (475 N·m) of torque. It is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and is able to reach a top speed higher than 170 mph (274 km/h).
The 2017 Ford Focus RS Horizon Edition (abbreviated as Focus '17 HE) features a Drift skill boost and various handling upgrades including a race front bumper and rear wing. It is available as a Horizon Wheelspin reward or via the Auction House.
The 2017 Ford Focus RS Forza Edition is very similar to the Horizon Edition, but features a 40% CR boost an an additional 40% CR boost when driving at Watkins Glen. Players receive this car as a reward upon unlocking the Elite series of the Breakout Championship.

The Focus RS features exceptional handling performance due to a highly responsive steering, firm chassis and strong brakes, allowing it to outperform much more powerful cars on technical race tracks. The all-wheel drive system of the Focus RS not only helps it in launching immediately off the line but also makes it possible to regain speed quickly when exiting corners.
The Horizon Edition variant in Forza Horizon 3 not only offers mildly improved handling performance over the standard model but also serves as an ideal base for a handling-focused class S1 build.
In Forza Motorsport 7, the Focus RS appears to have a glitch which causes its engine sound to become very high pitched.
