The 1988 Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV is a supercar that appears in all Xbox 360 titles and all Xbox One and Windows 10 PC main titles of the Forza series.

It has also been available as a Horizon Edition car in Forza Horizon 3 since an update on October 2016.

Description

You don't need to be Don Johnson to appreciate the utterly radical nature of the Countach. There’s nothing quite like arriving in a car that gave way to the term “Lambo doors.” And there is certainly not much like driving a car that looks and sounds like a jet fighter.
— forzamotorsport.net (Forza Horizon)[1]
If any single car could summarize the entire decade of the 1980s, it’s perhaps the Lamborghini Countach. The name Countach comes from the amazed exclamation of styling studio owner Nuccio Bertone on getting a look at the original concept his designer Marcello Gandini had come up with (“countach” is similar to “wow!” in a dialect of Italian), but imagine what he would have said upon catching a glimpse of the much more extreme LP5000 QV. Low, massively wide, and covered in scoops, strakes, and wings, this Countach certainly looks like the most extreme variant of the ultimate 1980s car around. And it’s no poseur, either, as anyone who’s heard the growl of the 5.2-liter V12 can attest to. The “QV” in the name comes from quattrovalvole, referring to the new 4-valve-per-cylinder head that increased output to 455 horsepower, an incredible number for the late ‘80s. So while performance was understandably phenomenal, it’s also the best of the breed. If a quick spin doesn’t instantly convince you of this, perhaps the opinion of long-time Lamborghini official test driver Valentino Balboni will: he considers it to be the ultimate Countach, with the perfect amount of brute force to match the stunning lines of the original hypercar.

Horizon Edition

In Forza Horizon 3, the Countach is available as a Horizon Edition model variant with a Credits boost and performance upgraded to the top of S1 Class. With this upgrade preset, the car becomes equipped with the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4's 6.5L V12 engine.

It is obtainable as a Horizon Wheelspin reward and is also gifted to all players from February 2017 onwards in Forza Horizon 3 after a majority of players experienced bugs involving the Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse Huracán LP620-2 Super Trofeo and its respective DLC pack.[3] As such, players who start a new game anytime from February 2017 onwards will receive the Countach LP5000 QV Horizon Edition as their first Horizon Edition car, so long as the car gift is redeemed from the Message Center.

Trivia

  • The upgrade preset for the Horizon Edition does not include the Centrifugal Supercharger conversion from the stock tune and non-Horizon Edition model, as the Aventador's V12 engine only has the Twin Turbo aspiration conversion.
