"The old IS300 was a great sedan, but its power deficit put it well behind its German competition. No one can fault Lexus for trying again, and the resulting IS350 is a much better effort than the first go-round, packing a new V6 that makes a whole ton of power: 306, to be exact. Better yet, the chassis is all-new too, much stiffer thanks to shared development with the Lexus GS platform. Power is routed to the back end, just as in the best sport sedans in the world, and the suspension has been refined for better handling and cornering performance. The overall result is excellent from the driver’s seat, with sharp reflexes and plenty of straight-line performance—60 mph is surmounted in six seconds flat. The styling is just as successful, wearing a new version of Lexus’ “L-Finesse” design language that has more recently graced the stunning LFA. It’s just what the doctor ordered—attractive, comfortable, and with a healthy dose of adrenaline added at no extra charge."—Official description[1]
