"In some ways, the LFA is more like a musical instrument than a car. Engineers at Lexus, given a free hand to craft the LFA into a powerful driving experience, tuned the exhaust and intake sounds with the help of Yamaha’s musical instrument division. By utilizing acoustically optimized sound channels, the driver is fully enveloped in a mechanical symphony Lexus calls “Octave Harmony.” All other systems are engineered for a similar driver-centric focus: while the engine is located in a front-midship position, the transaxle and dual radiators are located at the rear for near-perfect weight distribution. The motor uses an inherently balanced 72-degree bank angle for optimal smoothness, and the 10-cylinder configuration was chosen to allow stratospheric revs while weighing less than the company’s own 3.5-liter V6. The LFA barely disturbs the air as it wafts by, because of aerodynamic optimization that includes a completely flat underbelly pan. A multi-million dollar circular loom even weaves the complex shape of the carbon fiber windshield supports individually. With this level of detail paid to every system and component, it’s probably no surprise that the LFA’s performance is as breathtaking as the handcrafted interior. Just as a fine violin must be played to be appreciated, the first supercar from Lexus must be driven to understand just how exceptional it is."
—Official description[1]

The 2010 Lexus LFA - also known as "Lexus LF-A"[2] - is a rear-wheel drive supercar by Lexus.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 3 as part of the Stig's Garage Car Pack and in all subsequent main series titles except Forza Motorsport 7, with its addition to Forza Horizon 4 as part of Update 19.

It also appears in Forza Motorsport 6: Apex and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious as part of the fifth Bucket List event "Go skill crazy in a Lexus LFA".

Synopsis[]

The second model in Lexus' F marque line of performance cars after the IS F, the LFA was seen by Akio Toyoda, CEO of Toyota, as an opportunity to create a global icon for the Lexus brand, embodying his idea that the ultimate Lexus should connect with its owner.

The LFA is powered by a 4.8 liter V10 engine with a Dual VVT-i variable valve timing system, that was constructed using forged aluminium pistons, forged titanium connecting rods and solid titanium valves. Co-developed by Yamaha, its exhaust note was altered to emit a sound similar to Formula One cars with high revs while keeping vibration at low levels and maintaining Lexus' trademark reliability.

Performance[]

The LFA's 1LR-GUE powerplant delivers 552 hp (412 kW) at 8700 rpm and 354 ft·lb (480 N·m) at 6800 rpm, with 90% already being available from 3700 rpm, and a redline set at 9000 rpm. It is equipped with a six-speed automated sequential transmission by Aisin that sends power to the rear wheels.

It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.7 seconds and has a top speed approximated at 202 mph (325 km/h).
