Scoring back-to-back wins in the Super GT Championship is a tall order but the NISMO team served it up against its top racing counterparts in Asia. In 2015, it came down to the final 53-lap race at Twin Ring Motegi, a race that saw weather constantly upsetting track conditions. Drivers Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli pushed their GT-R from 12th place to second to ensure capturing a consecutive championship. Competition among other Nissan-powered teams and factory-backed efforts from Lexus and Honda makes this series a proving ground for design and technology. The GT-R is legendary for its performance; this race-bred strain represents best-in-class ability and will give you the upper-hand in any track battle.
The 2015 Nissan Nismo Motul Autech GT-R, also known as the Nissan GT-R GT500, is a GT racing car by Nissan that appears in various Forza titles in two livery variants with the number designations #1 and #23.
Unlike its production variants, the GT500 GT-R is powered by a two liter turbocharged inline-four with 550 hp (410 kW) and 398 ft·lb (540 N·m) of torque. It uses a seven-speed transmission powering the rear wheels and body alterations typical of Super GT cars, including front bumper canards, a large rear wing, and side bumper canards, all of which work in conjunction to generate large amounts of downforce.
Tuned for maximum downforce, the GT500 GT-R offers sharp steering and tons of grip at even as far as 120 mph (193 km/h). Due to a low top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h) however, it is best used on handling-demanding tracks.
In Forza Horizon 3, it can achieve 1.91 Gs at 120 mph (193 km/h) with a handling-oriented setup, and even hit 195 mph (314 km/h) while still achieving the aforementioned lateral grip value with a proper setup. Therefore it is comparable to the likes of the best handling supercars such as the Ferrari FXX K and Lamborghini Sesto Elemento, and ideal for setting lap records in S2 class Rivals events on handling-focused tracks.
