While faster and more powerful (and more costly) than its race-bred cousin the GT3, the 911 Turbo provides a different kind of performance. With 480 horsepower and 457 foot-pounds of torque, it is monster fast, pulling 11.7 in a quarter mile and jumping from 0-30 in 1.1 seconds, but the overall driving experience is more sedate. Perhaps this is the intent, since this car will see more commute time than a GT3 and will more likely be purchased by a wealth management specialist than a race team. It may also be related to the standard all-wheel drive or the adjustable vanes in the turbo that provide peak torque at just 2,000 RPM. These features deliver abundant traction and massive power through the RPM spectrum. With this level of power and these kind of features, “sedate” may be the wrong word to use when referring to the 911 Turbo. After all, when you hit its top speed of 193 mph, “riveting” may be more appropriate.
The 911 Turbo is a high-performance model of the Porsche 911, offering all-wheel drive and a variable geometry twin-turbocharged engine with 480 hp. With a 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time of 3.4 seconds, the 911 Turbo is the fastest launching car out of all Porsche 997 series cars in the Forza series after the 611 hp GT2 RS.
