At the heart of this road-devouring snake is a totally refined all-aluminum, mid-engine, 8.4 liter V10 delivering a class-topping 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. It’s utterly contemporary in its design, and the 2013 Viper’s gorgeous lines are at once sophisticated and hostile—form and function meeting in a sweet spot of automotive aggression. In short, the 2013 Viper’s stunning design will turn heads and its powerful performance will make sure those heads turn very, very quickly.
The SRT Viper GTS is a fast car, capable of competing with the Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. Its powerful and torque-plenty engine, along with its huge displacement and weight of less than 3,300 lb (1,497 kg), gives the Viper an edge above most cars in its class. However, it is inferior to the previous-generation Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (and its track-only cousin), as the Viper GTS is not a track-focused model and more of a street-focused model.
Prior to Forza Horizon 2, the SRT Viper GTS omitted the "SRT" in its name and instead had "Viper" as the manufacturer.
The SRT Viper GTS was featured as the hero car of Forza Horizon.
Since Forza Horizon 3, the SRT Viper GTS's 8.4 L V10 engine can be swapped onto many cars in the series, particularly American cars. European cars may instead receive the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4's 5.2 L V10 instead.
