"The Celica GT was a JDM legend that did much to pioneer the international market for Japanese imports. It was a direct descendant and much more accessible version of the 2000GT and at the time was comparable to the Mustang, which had been reduced in size significantly in recent years. That being said, the Celica only weighed about 2,200lbs, while the Mustang quickly moved on to bigger and heavier engines. The Celica housed a 2.0L four-cylinder that put out 90 hp [sic] (versus the Mustang’s 105 hp)."
—Official description[1]

The 1974 Toyota Celica GT - abbreviated as "Toyota Celica '74" - is a rear-wheel drive sport compact by Toyota.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 5 as part of the Hot Wheels Car Pack and in all subsequent main series titles, except for Forza Motorsport 7.

It appears in Forza Horizon 4 as part of Update 23.

Synopsis[]

The first generation Toyota Celica - depicted in Forza as the 1974 Celica GT - was Toyota's first "specialty car", referring to affordable coupés derived from sedan platforms akin to pony cars in North America. The Celica debuted in 1970 alongside the larger Carina that shares its platform with the former.[2] Both models changed to their respective second model generations in 1977.

The Celica was exclusively available with rear-wheel drive until 1985 with the demise of its third model generation. Successive model generations used a front-wheel drive, although some were also offered with a four-wheel drive that were unique to GT-Four models such as the 1992 Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185.

Drivetrain[]

The two liter engine was the largest displacement offered for the first generation Celica, offering 97 hp (72 kW) and 106 ft·lb (144 N·m) of torque in the Celica GT. This 18R-C codenamed engine was exclusive to export models and fitted with emissions control to meet Californian emissions standards.

Platform[]

The Celica GT in Forza is a left-hand drive North American market model with enlarged bumpers and two-door hardtop body.
