"In 1991, the MR2 received a full redesign that made it sportier and more Ferrari-like in appearance. By ‘95, due to rising prices and insurance premiums, it was ending its production run, making this model especially prized by collectors. The GT featured a 2.0 L 200 hp [sic] five-speed engine mounted behind the seats that put it on equal footing with cars like the Ferrari 348. The MR2 name would make its return when Toyota attached it to the Spyder convertible. "
—Official description[1]

The 1995 Toyota MR2 GT - abbreviated as "Toyota MR2 '95" - is a rear-wheel drive sports car by Toyota.

It appears in Forza Motorsport 2 and all subsequent Motorsport series titles except Forza Motorsport 7.

It also appears in Forza Horizon 2, in Forza Horizon 4 since Series 23, and in Forza Horizon 5 since Series 17.

Synopsis[]

The Toyota MR2 GT is the successor to the 1989 Toyota MR2 SC. It is a Japanese domestic market model of the SW20 codenamed second generation MR2 that was produced from 1989 to 1999, when it was replaced by the Toyota MR-S (known as MR2 in Europe and North America).

The SW20 MR2 received a larger body than its predecessor and was available with a turbocharged engine from the Celica GT-Four that was exclusive for high trim levels.[2] The Japanese market received the turbocharged engine with the GT-S and GT, with the latter being the premium trim level featuring alcantara trim and two-stage air conditioning.

Drivetrain[]

The 3S-GTE, which is also used by the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185 and Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205, produces 241 hp (180 kW) and 228 ft·lb (309 N·m) of torque in the MR2 GT, making it the most powerful MR2 model ever made.
