Forza Horizon is a fresh installment in the respected Forza Motorsport series. With a re-approach on gameplay design, Horzion places an emphasis on open-world, non-closed races. The player attends a festival called the Horizon Festival, set in Colorado. Race fast, destroy property, and win races to acquire Wristbands and dominate the festival!
The game drops on October 23rd in North America and October 26th in PAL regions. Reviews are in and the consensus is strong, Forza Horizon is a fun, expansive racing game with plenty to offer. Be sure to let us know what you think once you purchase the game!
"If you love Forza 4, this is the perfect companion. If you love cars, this is essential. The school of thought may be that it’s hard to push racing games this late in a generation, but Playground Games hasn’t just moved the needle here. It’s buried it."
"It may not be the perfect title for the F1 fans looking for a classic racing simulator, but for anyone who has ever turned their head as a Lamborghini whips past them on the interstate; this game needs to be played. A deep and full-bodied single-player compliments the unique multiplayer; all rounding off to form a stunningly thorough game that demands your time."
When it comes down to it, some automotive enthusiasts just want to jump into the car of their dreams and go for a long drive through the country, and Forza Horizon delivers that simple pleasure on a silver platter. The fact that a solid racing game is included doesn't hurt either.
Playground Games took a humungous, beautiful world, packed it full of entertaining challenges and events, added in tons of personality and style, and built it all around the proven Forza tech, giving racing game fans an exceptional automotive experience that they didn't even know they wanted. For as much as I love Forza Motorsport, it's going to be hard to go back after this.
Horizon's occasional missteps may clash with the machinelike precision of the Motorsport games that preceded it, but its ambition and untethered road map more than make up for those faults. This is a game that understands the thrill of the open road, and in delivering that thrill it's an unqualified success.
Thought it was OK
"Horizon's accessibility gives way to a lack of foresight. Its open world feels empty, its economic model is questionable, and its armada of cars are powerless against arbitrary AI escalation. Forza Horizon has more flash than its predecessors, but it's hollow by comparison."
No middling reviews have been received for Forza Horizon yet.
